Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its environment. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she raises awareness about young diabetics. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently goes on trips across the USA in the roles of speaker and mentor. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.

After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade.
